Position : DevOps Application Support Engineer

Industry : Oil & Gas (Shared Service)

Location: Mercu Aspire, No. 3, Jalan Bangsar, KL Eco City, 59200 Kuala Lumpur

Working Hours : Monday - Friday (8.30am – 5.30pm) – may need to support UK working hour

Employment Type: 6 month contract with PERSOL with possible conversion

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (60/40)

Salary range : RM10,000 - RM16,500 (based on experience & qualification)

What You'll Be Working On

You'll play a vital role in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications that process commodity market data used for:

• Trading activities
• Risk exposure management
• Pricing and valuation
• P&L calculations
• Business-critical decision making

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Incident Management

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues
• Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes
• Ensure high system availability and rapid incident recovery
• Support highly critical SOX-compliant environments

Cloud & DevOps Engineering

• Deploy and maintain applications on OpenShift (AWS)
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines
• Automate operational processes and support activities
• Improve platform stability, performance, and scalability

Application Development & Enhancement

• Deliver enhancements using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Python
• Participate in code reviews and software quality initiatives
• Support modernization and continuous platform improvement

Monitoring & Observability

• Utilize Splunk and Grafana for monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Identify performance bottlenecks and potential risks proactively

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with traders, business users, architects, developers, and support teams
• Translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions
• Lead technical discussions and solution walkthroughs

Who can apply?

• 10 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, DevOps, or Enterprise Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with: Java & Spring Boot, Python, PostgreSQL, Production Support / Incident Management
• Experience supporting complex, business-critical systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
