Leading Global Asset Manager | Regional Risk Manager

Our client is a leading global asset management firm with a strong presence across Asia and an established reputation for investment excellence. As part of its continued growth in Southeast Asia, the firm is looking to appoint a Risk Manager to join its Singapore office and support the oversight of regional investment activities.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Risk, you will play a key role in overseeing and managing a broad spectrum of risks across the business, including investment compliance, market risk, liquidity risk, credit and counterparty risk, operational risk, ESG risk, and performance monitoring.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring portfolio regulatory, client and internal investment guidelines.
- Assessing market risk exposures through liquidity analysis, VaR, tracking error and stress testing.
- Reviewing credit and counterparty risk profiles.
- Conducting performance measurement, attribution and contribution analysis.
- Supporting operational risk and permanent control frameworks.
- Leading quarterly portfolio risk reviews and presenting findings to local and global risk committees.
- Preparing risk reports and management information for stakeholders.
- Working closely with investment teams, trading, middle office and regional risk teams to enhance risk methodologies and controls.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within Risk Management, Investment Risk, Performance Analytics, or Investment Management.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products and risk management principles.
- Experience monitoring market, investment, operational or portfolio risks within asset management, wealth management or institutional investment environments.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and effectively challenge business decisions where necessary.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI.
- Exposure to SQL, VBA or Python will be viewed favourably.
