IT Technician

Reports To: Lead, Field Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated IT Technician to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networking and communication equipment at customer sites across Malaysia.

This position offers a great opportunity for fresh graduates who are passionate about networking and IT infrastructure to gain hands-on field experience while working on various technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and commission networking and communication equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance at customer sites.
• Configure routers, switches, modems, and other communication devices.
• Test and verify equipment before deployment.
• Prepare maintenance reports, service reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with customers, project teams, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support project implementation and system integration activities.
• Handle equipment verification, RMA processes, and spare parts replacement.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment preparation.
• Provide technical support during office hours and after-hours when required.
• Travel to customer sites throughout Malaysia based on project assignments.

Requirements

• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of:
• TCP/IP Networking
• LAN/WAN
• IP Addressing
• Routing & Switching
• Basic understanding of routers, switches, and network troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Willing to travel nationwide for customer support and project work.
• Willing to work outside normal office hours, including night maintenance when required.
• Possess own transport (car preferred).
• Valid Malaysian Class D Driving Licence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of LTE, 4G, or 5G communication devices.
• Experience configuring routers and networking equipment.
• Experience in field technical support.
• Basic Linux knowledge is an advantage.
• Familiarity with remote access and remote support tools is an advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
