We're looking for an experienced Technical Specialist to become the technical backbone of our project delivery team. You'll provide expert leadership across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring every project is technically sound, buildable, practical and executed to the highest quality standards.

You'll work closely with Design, Cost & Contract Management, Project Delivery and Management to establish technical excellence across the organisation while reducing project risks, improving buildability and driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

1. Technical Leadership

· Serve as the company's technical authority for residential renovation projects.

· Lead technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

· Establish and maintain company technical standards, best practices and construction methodologies.

· Provide technical guidance for complex construction challenges.

· Act as the final technical authority for critical technical decisions.

2. Proposal, Design & Technical Review

· Review technical feasibility during proposal development.

· Verify material selections, construction methods and technical detailing.

· Ensure drawings are practical, buildable and aligned with site execution.

· Review design revisions before implementation.

· Identify technical risks and recommend practical solutions before construction begins.

3. Project Technical Coordination

· Coordinate technical requirements between Design Development, Cost & Contract Management and Project Delivery.

· Ensure technical documentation is complete before site commencement.

· Support coordination between Design, Site and subcontractors throughout project execution.

· Manage technical changes and ensure accurate implementation across project teams.

4. Construction Support & Quality Assurance

· Provide technical support to Site Engineers throughout construction.

· Review site conditions and recommend practical construction solutions.

· Resolve complex technical issues on site.

· Conduct technical site visits and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.

· Develop technical checklists, inspection standards and standard construction details.

· Reduce defects and rework through proactive technical reviews.

· Monitor compliance with company technical standards and best practices.

5. Continuous Improvement & Capability Development

· Identify technical risks throughout the project lifecycle and implement mitigation plans before issues impact delivery.

· Improve technical SOPs, construction workflows and documentation.

· Develop standard technical details and technical guidelines for recurring construction elements.

· Capture lessons learned to continuously improve future projects.

· Coach and mentor Technical Designers and Site Engineers.

· Conduct technical training sessions to strengthen technical capability across Design, Site and Project teams.

· Promote a culture of technical excellence throughout the organisation.

Who We're Looking For:

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).

· Minimum 6 years of experience in residential renovation, construction or Design & Build projects.

· Proven ability to lead technical decision-making across complex residential renovation projects.

· Experience supporting projects from proposal through final handover.

· Strong understanding of architectural, structural and M&E coordination.

· Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.

· Ability to review construction drawings and technical documentation.

· Experience mentoring technical or project teams is an advantage.

Technical Skills

· Proficient in AutoCAD.

· Working knowledge of SketchUp.

· Revit experience is an advantage.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Project is an advantage.

Industry Knowledge

· Strong understanding of Malaysian residential renovation practices, construction methodology, detailing and buildability.

· Familiar with Malaysian Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL).

· Knowledge of local authority requirements, construction regulations and industry best practices is an advantage.
