Responsibilities

Job Summary

Supervise kitchen operations to deliver high-quality food and service. Lead and train staff, ensure compliance with food safety standards, manage inventory, and coordinate with front-of-house teams to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service
  • Lead, schedule, and oversee kitchen staff to ensure effective task execution and team performance
  • Prepare and present food according to restaurant recipes, quality standards, and portion specifications
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with Singapore food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations and company policies
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, equipment use, and workplace safety to improve skills and safety awareness
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and implement measures to minimise food wastage
  • Maintain kitchen equipment by ensuring proper use and reporting faults or maintenance needs promptly
  • Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders
  • Assist in menu implementation to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
  • Resolve operational issues during shifts and support management in meeting operational and service targets

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, including supervisory experience
  • Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and inventory management
  • Familiarity with food hygiene and safety standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
