About the role

OGC BUILDER SDN.BHD is seeking a Site Engineer to join our team in Bintulu, Sarawak. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical and operational aspects of our construction projects. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction work is executed in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role is integral to the successful delivery of our projects and requires a proactive professional who can manage multiple site activities whilst maintaining excellence in all areas of civil and structural engineering work.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications and drawings

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of workmanship and adherence to safety protocols

• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, progress records, material testing certificates and as-built drawings

• Liaise between the site team, project management office and clients to communicate progress updates and resolve technical issues

• Ensure proper handling, storage and usage of materials and equipment in accordance with industry standards

• Monitor and manage site resources including labour, equipment and materials to optimise project efficiency

• Identify and escalate potential risks or deviations from project plans and recommend corrective actions

• Assist in quality assurance and quality control activities, including testing and inspection of structural elements

• Support the implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental standards on-site

• Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve constructional challenges

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognised institution

• Professional engineering qualification or registration (such as PE or equivalent in Malaysia) is highly desirable

• Minimum 2-3 years of post-graduation experience in site engineering or site supervision on construction projects

• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, construction methods and building codes

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation

• Experience with construction materials testing and quality control procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

• Competence in using relevant software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and project management tools

• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to site locations as required

• Knowledge of Malaysian construction standards, regulations and safety requirements is advantageous

• Experience with concrete works, structural steel or other specialised construction disciplines is a plus
