About the Role

Perform and support the operations and activities in ensuring the profitability of the Fire & Miscellaneous Portfolio. Render high-quality underwriting services in line with the Company's service standards, core values, and quality objectives to support sustainable business growth.

Responsibilities

• Assess all aspects of technical underwriting, policy wording reviews, survey requirements, and risk improvements, including risk referral approval recommendations for all new and renewal Fire & Miscellaneous classes of insurance.
• Assist in providing professional advice, guidance, and support to Business Units and Branch personnel in all aspects of Fire & Miscellaneous underwriting management and operations.
• Work closely with the Risk Survey Department, Claims Department, and Business Units to evaluate survey reports, adjuster reports, loss ratios, and claims trends, and provide recommendations on risk improvement measures whenever possible.
• Assist in reviewing underwriting guidelines periodically for continuous improvement and adaptation to market changes, and assist in performing market research and development for Fire & Miscellaneous insurance by analyzing market needs and formulating profitable and marketable products.
• Support the department's internal controls and ensure compliance with the Company's policies and procedures, corporate governance, and related legal and regulatory requirements, while supporting departmental administrative systems, procedures, work processes, and other ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications

• Degree holder or possess relevant insurance qualifications.
• AMII qualification is an added advantage.
