Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer based in Petaling Jaya. The NOC Engineer will monitor network performance and availability, respond to alerts, and proactively identify issues affecting connectivity and service quality. The role involves performing first- and second-level troubleshooting, escalating complex incidents, and coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and field engineers to resolve problems within defined service levels. The engineer will manage routine network administration tasks, apply standard operating procedures, and maintain accurate incident, change, and configuration records. Additional responsibilities include supporting network security controls, assisting with planned maintenance and upgrades, generating operational reports, and contributing to process improvements for greater reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Network Operations Center (NOC) and Network Administration skills, including monitoring, incident handling, and configuration management.
  • Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose issues, perform root cause analysis, and restore services effectively.
  • Candidates should possess foundational Network Security skills, including basic understanding of firewalls, access control, and secure network practices.
  • Relevant academic background such as a diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with common networking technologies and tools (e.g., TCP/IP, routing and switching, SNMP monitoring, ticketing systems).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work within defined procedures and service levels.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Willingness to work in shift rotations, including nights or weekends, as required for continuous network operations.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA or equivalent are an advantage.
