About the role

Every clinic that joins us arrives with years of data exported from a legacy on-premise practice management system. You will write and maintain the parsers and importers that get that data into our platform — completely, correctly, and provably. The pipeline is straightforward: source exports land in S3, source-specific parsers transform them into a clean intermediate "master" format, and importers load the master files into the clinic's database. The hard part is the data itself — undocumented columns, inconsistent formats, contradictory records, and ledgers that have to balance to the cent.

Key responsibilities

• Write parsers that turn each source system's CSV export into our master format: patients, appointments, notes, treatments, invoices, payments, recalls and the rest
• Run conversions for new clinics: parse, import, reconcile, fix, re-run
• Make importers idempotent and re-runnable, safe to execute again after a partial failure
• Build reconciliation checks that prove record counts and ledger balances match the source
• Improve the tooling so each conversion is faster than the last

About you

• Strong production Ruby experience
• Strong SQL, comfortable beyond ActiveRecord
• Experience parsing and transforming messy real-world data at volume — CSV, fixed-width, undocumented vendor exports
• The patience to keep pulling the thread until the numbers reconcile, and the honesty to say when they don't
• Testing discipline with RSpec — this is patient and financial data; we cannot silently corrupt it
• Excellent written English — we work asynchronously
• Based in Malaysia with daily overlap into Australian Eastern time
