Structural Lead Engineer
Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Engineering Manager (Topside).
Position Overview
Responsible for leading and directing all structural engineering activities related to topside facilities, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery of engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle and operational phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering activities during conceptual studies, engineering definition, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and detailed design review stages.
- Develop and manage structural design philosophies, engineering specifications, scopes of work, and technical requirements for engineering service tenders and requests for quotation.
- Oversee the preparation of engineering deliverables, including design calculations, technical analyses, material requisitions, reports, drawings, and package specifications for concept, engineering definition, and FEED phases.
- Evaluate and provide technical feedback on FEED and detailed engineering submissions prepared by third-party engineering contractors, ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Review proposed design modifications and identify optimization opportunities throughout engineering development.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to support team capability growth and organizational objectives.
- Ensure proper control, maintenance, and management of engineering documentation and project data in accordance with established company procedures and governance requirements.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in structural engineering within the oil and gas, offshore, or marine industry.
- At least 10 years in a senior engineering or leadership capacity.
- Experience supporting floating production facility projects, particularly during Concept Select, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
- Proven track record as a lead engineer on at least two major FPSO projects involving fabrication, integration, and installation activities, including topside modules of up to approximately 25,000 metric tonnes per FPSO.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer or equivalent membership with a recognized international professional engineering institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) status and a valid Practising Certificate, or equivalent professional accreditation, will be considered an advantage.
