Job Description
- Lead and manage all yard welding engineering activities for EPC projects.
- Establish and manage the ISO 3834 Welding management system.
- Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedures (WPS), PQRs, and WPQs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes,standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, API, DNV, ABS) and and Client Specifications.
- Interface with Class, Client, and Third-Party Inspection Agencies.
- Review vendor welding documentation and fabrication procedures.
- Provide technical support to yard / production team.
- Tender technical review for compliance with yard practices.
- Resolve welding-related NCRs, concessions, and technical queries.
- Support material selection, PWHT, NDT coordination, and weld repair strategies.
- Oversee Yard welder training, qualification and performance monitoring program. and welding consumable control.
- Monitor welding related equipment and inspection instrument calibration and controls.
- Participate in welding related surveillance and audits.
- Establish welding sequence for critical structure to minimize / control distortion.
- Monitor welding & NDT related performance targets
- Mentor Welding Engineers, QAQC inspectors related to welding, PWHT activities.
- Degree in Welding/Metallurgy/Materials/Mechanical engineering with IWE Diploma
- Experience: 10+ Years in Str & Piping fabrication yard.
- Experience in Carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex & super duplex, Inconel, Copper Nickel & Overlayed materials
- Heavy structural fabrication with non tubular and tubular welds.
- In-depth knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW).
- Knowledge in NDT.
