Responsibilities
Job Description:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing project costs, preparing quotations and tenders, monitoring budgets, and ensuring that construction works are completed within the approved financial and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates, quotations, tenders, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
Carry out quantity take-offs and measurement of construction works.
Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Assist in tender submission, pricing, and cost analysis.
Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cost performance.
Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
Verify subcontractor progress claims and payment certificates.
Assess variations and additional works and prepare supporting cost breakdowns.
Liaise with clients, consultants, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, quotations, purchase orders, and claims.
Conduct site measurements and verify completed works when required.
Monitor material and labour costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Assist in procurement and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare monthly cost reports and project financial updates for management.
Ensure contractual requirements, payment terms, and project documentation are properly followed.
Support project teams in resolving commercial, contractual, and cost-related matters.
Assist with project completion, final measurement, and settlement of final accounts.
Perform other quantity surveying and commercial duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
Good knowledge of construction drawings, quantity measurement, tendering, and contract administration.
Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant quantity surveying or construction software.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
