Job Summary

Support the Head Chef by developing menus and food concepts, managing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, supervising staff, and maintaining quality and efficiency in a dynamic culinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop dishes, menus, and food concepts that align with the restaurant or hotel’s culinary vision
• Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and consistent food preparation
• Manage hygiene standards, HACCP protocols, and inventory control to maintain safe and efficient kitchen operations
• Handle staff scheduling, supply ordering, and monitor kitchen budgets to optimize resources
• Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure proper techniques and team integration
• Maintain quality control by ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Demonstrate strong cooking skills and experience in high-standard kitchens, preferably with prior roles as Sous Chef or Head Chef
• Exhibit leadership and management skills to motivate teams, delegate tasks, and foster a positive work environment
• Apply creativity and innovation to develop new dishes and improve kitchen processes
• Utilize organizational skills for effective inventory management, ordering, and scheduling
• Communicate effectively in relevant languages to coordinate with staff and management
