Horizon Technology Solution Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to take ownership of the technical delivery of enterprise networking projects, from initial scoping through to commissioning and client handover. This role sits at the centre of our Network Practice, combining hands-on engineering with design authority, client-facing responsibility, and mentorship of junior engineers.

The precise scope of work covers three areas: (1) technical design and delivery of LAN, WAN, WLAN and data centre network solutions across multi-vendor platforms; (2) pre-sales and solution architecture support for the sales team, including proposal development and client presentations; and (3) supervision and quality assurance of work produced by other engineers on assigned projects.

The ideal candidate has practical, deployment-level experience across at least two of Aruba HPE, Cisco, H3C, Huawei or Juniper environments, is comfortable working independently on client sites, and can manage several concurrent engagements in a fast-paced system integrator environment.

Technical Design & Architecture

•    Design end-to-end network solutions covering LAN, WAN, WLAN and data centre connectivity across Aruba HPE, Cisco, Huawei, Juniper and H3C platforms.

•    Produce low-level designs (LLD), high-level designs (HLD), network diagrams, bills of materials (BOM) and configuration templates for each assigned project.

•    Conduct RF site surveys, heatmap analysis and access point placement planning for wireless deployments.

•    Architect secure, highly available network topologies incorporating redundancy, QoS, VLAN segmentation and routing protocols.

•    Review designs prepared by other engineers prior to client submission or implementation.

Project Delivery & Implementation

•    Take ownership of network infrastructure deployment and commissioning, from project kick-off through acceptance testing and formal handover.

•    Coordinate project timelines and technical milestones together with the project management team.

•    Perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, wireless controllers, firewalls and related equipment.

•    Carry out site surveys, cabling reviews and rack planning ahead of deployment.

•    Develop and execute Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) and prepare post-implementation documentation.

Pre-Sales & Solution Design Support

•    Work with the sales team during pre-sales engagements to scope requirements and translate them into technically sound proposals.

•    Prepare and present technical proposals, solution architectures and proof-of-concept (POC) demonstrations to client stakeholders.

•    Respond to RFPs and RFIs with technical write-ups, sizing justifications and product recommendations.

Team Leadership & Client Management

•    Guide and develop a small team of network engineers, assigning tasks and reviewing deliverables for quality.

•    Act as the senior technical point of contact for assigned client accounts, presenting milestone updates and managing escalations.

•    Coordinate with vendors and third-party contractors to ensure smooth, on-schedule project delivery.

Networking Platforms

•    Aruba HPE: Aruba/Juniper switching, Aruba wireless (IAP/AP series), Aruba Central, AOS-CX, AOS-S.

•    Cisco: Catalyst/Nexus switching, ASR/ISR routing, Cisco Wireless (WLC/Catalyst Centre/Meraki), Cisco ASA/FTD firewall.

•    H3C: S-series switching, H3C Comware OS, H3C wireless and iMC network management platform.

Core Networking Skills

•    Layer 2: VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP/port aggregation, IRF/VSF stacking.

•    Layer 3: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, static routing, route redistribution, VRF.

•    Wireless: RF propagation principles, 802.11 ax/ac/n, site survey methodology, Ekahau/Aruba Airwave/iBwave.

•    Security: NAC, 802.1X, RADIUS, firewall policy design, VLAN segmentation, DMZ architecture.

•    WAN: SD-WAN, MPLS, broadband aggregation, IPSec/SSL VPN.

•    Management & Monitoring: SNMP, Syslog, Aruba Central, Cisco DNA/Catalyst Centre, H3C iMC.

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

•    Minimum 3 years of hands-on network engineering experience; 5+ years with prior lead responsibility is an advantage.

•    Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise network infrastructure projects within a system integrator or managed services environment.

•    Strong working knowledge of at least two of the following vendor platforms: Aruba HPE, Cisco, H3C.

•    Relevant certifications an advantage: ACSX/ACMX, CCNP Enterprise/CCNP Wireless/CCIE, H3CNE/H3CNP, CWNA/CWSP.

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with meticulous attention to detail in design and documentation.

•    Ability to manage multiple concurrent technical workstreams across different clients and vendors.

•    Clear, confident communicator able to engage engineers and senior client stakeholders alike.

•    Proactive in client engagement and issue escalation, with a commercially aware, delivery-focused mindset.

•    Natural mentor able to guide and develop junior engineers.

•    Work on high-profile enterprise and healthcare infrastructure projects across multiple sectors in Malaysia and the region.
