Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies, procedures and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA 1994, DOSH/JKKP requirements, regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
  • Assist in conducting and reviewing HIRARC / risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Monitor employees' compliance with PPE and workplace safety requirements.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents and near misses and prepare investigation reports.
  • Follow up on corrective and preventive actions arising from safety inspections, incidents and audits.
  • Coordinate safety induction, toolbox talks, OSH briefings and safety awareness programs.
  • Maintain proper OSH documentation, records, inspection reports, training records and incident reports.
  • Assist in coordinating emergency response activities, fire drills and evacuation exercises.
  • Monitor workplace conditions including housekeeping, chemical handling, machinery safety, ergonomics and other potential occupational hazards.
  • Assist with internal and external OSH audits, inspections and regulatory assessments.
  • Liaise with DOSH/JKKP, BOMBA, contractors, consultants and relevant authorities when required.
  • Review and update relevant Safety SOPs, Work Instructions and Emergency Response Plans.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and encourage employees to report hazards and unsafe practices.
  • Perform other OSH-related duties as assigned by Management.

Preferred Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
  • OSH Coordinator (OSH-C) certification/competency recognised by DOSH/JKKP is an advantage or required, depending on the role.
  • Experience in manufacturing/food manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of HIRARC, incident investigation, workplace inspection, emergency response, and OSH legislation.
  • Good communication, coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate with different department
