Job Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in leading restaurant operations, managing staff, and ensuring high customer service standards. This role drives operational efficiency, staff development, and guest satisfaction through proactive leadership and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing staff and services to ensure efficient restaurant operations and consistent customer service standards
• Lead and supervise a team of Captains, Cashiers, Hosts, and Service Attendants to deliver excellent service
• Support the management team in achieving financial, service, and operational goals through proactive management and problem-solving
• Deputize for senior management during their absence to maintain seamless operations
• Collaborate with service and food preparation staff to reduce wastage and enhance productivity and efficiency
• Analyze operating results with the team to identify and implement performance improvements
• Monitor cashiering procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and minimize consumable wastage
• Inspect table setups regularly to verify cleanliness, neatness, and compliance with restaurant standards
• Ensure food items are prepared and presented in proper quantities according to hotel standards
• Review reservation books, assign tables in advance, and manage special guest requests effectively
• Verify availability and condition of food menus and beverage lists for each meal period
• Anticipate peak business periods and organize procedures to manage extended waiting lines, coordinating support from other outlets as needed
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily business information and expectations to staff
• Supervise, mentor, train, schedule, and evaluate staff performance; prepare and deliver staff reviews
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
• Monitor guest reactions and collaborate with service staff to ensure high guest satisfaction
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest comments, requests, and complaints, taking personal responsibility for resolution
• Manage human resources functions including quality hiring, training, succession planning, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements, supporting the company’s diversity commitment
• Coordinate staff training programs as required to maintain service standards
• Manage inventories and order food, beverage products, supplies, and equipment to meet operational needs
• Maintain and update guest profiles daily, taking appropriate actions to enhance guest experience
• Lead daily pre-shift and departmental meetings to align team efforts and communicate updates
