Job Description

• Lead and manage teams to deliver cloud application solutions to Awantec clients and contribute technical insights to client engagements. 

• Primary responsibilities in client cloud application architecture design (conducting comprehensive analysis, designing scalable solutions, ensuring reliability and resilience, selecting appropriate cloud services, and architecting for security)

• Develop and deploy scalable, secure, and cost-effective client GCP-based application solutions aligned (customer application design) with the client's business objectives. Cloud Solution architects assess the client’s current infrastructure, applications, and business requirements to determine the optimal cloud architecture.

• Lead the early discussion and analysis of cloud concepts with prospective clients, and assist in creating proof-of-concepts with the full backing of the relevant teams.

• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, developing proposals, and presenting GCP solutions to potential clients.

• Develop comprehensive technical designs for GCP application-based solutions, considering scalability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency factors.

• Designing and developing client cloud-native application architectures or optimising existing applications

• Evaluate the offerings, selecting GCP services like compute instances, storage options, databases, and networking components that best suit the organisation’s needs.

• Lead the planning and execution of cloud migration projects, ensuring a smooth transition from on-premises or other cloud environments to GCP.

• Proactively identifying and pursuing opportunities for cloud applications for further business and team growth.

• Provide technical guidance and support to application cloud development clients & teams, ensuring they effectively leverage GCP services and best practices. 

• Primary responsibilities in cloud application migration strategies (Develop migration strategies, assess readiness and dependencies, execute migration activities with the team and cloud optimisation) 

• Primary responsibilities  in application security and compliance (Design and implement security controls, ensure compliance, monitor for threats and conduct security assessments:

• Primary responsibilities in cloud application  and system integration (Design integration solutions, Implement data integration, facilitate identity integration and ensure interoperability)

• Primary responsibilities in application performance monitoring and optimisation (establish monitoring frameworks, analyse performance data, optimise resource allocation, implement performance tuning and plan for growth)

• Assist the sales team in identifying and qualifying Google Cloud Platform (GCP) opportunities through a rigorous sales process.

Job Qualification

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer/ electrical engineering, information technology or a related field

• Relevant certifications, such as Google Professional Certification. Google Cloud Developer is an advantage.

• A system engineering or developer background with the ability to learns quickly and share your knowledge with the broader team.

• A mindset to automate everything.

Desired experience/exposure

• Technical Skills in Cloud Solution and Application Development.

• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

• Proficiency in cloud application development with a proven minimum of 5 cycles of cloud application development

• Deep understanding of GCP services, architecture, and best practices.

• Proficiency in Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Serverless computing (Cloud Functions, App Engine), and microservices architecture.

• Proficient in Cloud computing solutions, architectural design, Infrastructure as Code (IAC),  Networking and Security Compliance, Integration, Containerization and orchestration

• Familiarity with data storage, processing, and analytics tools on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Datastore).

• Hands-on GCP experience with at least one implementation (preferably in an enterprise-scale environment) with one programming language.

• Ability to analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions.
