Hydroaxys is looking for a motivated Field Engineer Intern to join our Technical & Projects team. You will work alongside experienced engineers on the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of environmental monitoring systems at actual project sites.

Gain practical exposure to sensors, instrumentation, telemetry, IoT, data acquisition, mechanical systems and electrical/electronic integration, not just office-based internship work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with site surveys, technical inspections, and preparation for field installation activities.

• Support the installation and commissioning of environmental monitoring instruments, sensors, data loggers, telemetry devices, and communication systems.

• Assist with mechanical assembly, equipment mounting, cable routing, wiring, termination, and basic electrical checks under supervision.

• Support the setup of control panels, equipment enclosures, solar or DC power systems, and field communication devices.

• Assist with instrument configuration, calibration, functional testing, system verification, and data transmission checks.

• Support the diagnosis and troubleshooting of basic mechanical, electrical, sensor, power-supply, and communication faults.

• Participate in preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment servicing, and field instrument inspections.

• Collect, record, and organise field measurements for water quality, water level, groundwater, flow monitoring, and other environmental applications.

• Prepare installation checklists, service reports, test records, photographs, and other project documentation, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.

• Follow company safety procedures, communicate professionally with project stakeholders, travel to project sites or outstation locations when required, and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Environmental Engineering or a related technical field.

• Able to commit to an internship period of 3 months or longer. Candidates undertaking extended placements, including 1-year internship programmes, are encouraged to apply.

• Able to use Microsoft Office and communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

• Must possess a valid Class D driving licence and be willing to travel to project sites or outstation locations when required.
