Job Summary

Responsible for testing integration points between banking applications, APIs, databases, middleware and external systems to ensure data is transferred accurately, securely and reliably across the banking technology ecosystem.

The Integration Tester works closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, API Testers, Database Testers, Test Leads and Project Managers throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements for system integration.
• Develop integration test strategies, scenarios, test cases and test data.
• Perform end-to-end integration testing across multiple banking systems.
• Validate data flow between source and target applications.
• Test interfaces between:
• Core Banking
• Digital / Mobile Banking
• Payment systems
• Cards platforms
• APIs
• Databases
• Middleware
• Third-party systems
• Validate REST and SOAP API integrations.
• Validate request and response messages, headers, payloads and status codes.
• Validate JSON, XML and other message formats.
• Verify data mapping and transformation between integrated systems.
• Perform positive and negative integration testing.
• Validate authentication and authorisation for system interfaces.
• Test error handling, timeout, retry and exception scenarios.
• Validate transaction processing across multiple systems.
• Perform end-to-end banking transaction testing.
• Perform database validation using SQL.
• Verify source-to-target data consistency and reconciliation.
• Test batch interfaces and scheduled integration jobs.
• Test asynchronous integrations and message queues.
• Validate integration through middleware / ESB platforms.
• Execute SIT, regression and UAT support testing.
• Identify, document and track integration defects.
• Participate in defect triage with Development, BA, Architecture and Support teams.
• Perform defect retesting and regression testing.
• Analyse integration failures and assist teams with root-cause investigation.
• Validate fixes across all affected systems.
• Support production deployment and post-Go-Live integration validation.
• Prepare test execution reports and integration test summary reports.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3–8+ years of experience in Integration Testing / System Integration Testing.
• Strong experience testing interfaces between multiple applications.
• Hands-on experience with REST / SOAP APIs.
• Experience with Postman, SOAP UI or similar tools.
• Good SQL skills for backend data validation.
• Strong understanding of JSON, XML and HTTP protocols.
• Experience with middleware or messaging technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience with SIT, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Banking / financial-services experience is highly preferred.
• Strong defect management and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.
