Job Summary
Responsible for providing project controls, financial tracking, scheduling, reporting and governance support across IT projects and programmes within a banking environment. The IT Project Controller ensures project performance is accurately monitored against approved scope, budget, schedule, resources and milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in the planning, monitoring and control of IT projects.
- Maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables and dependencies.
- Track project progress against approved baseline plans.
- Monitor project budget, actual expenditure, forecast and variance.
- Prepare project financial reports and budget forecasts.

- Perform cost variance analysis and highlight potential budget overruns.
- Maintain project cost forecasts and support financial planning.
- Monitor project timelines and identify schedule slippage.
- Maintain project RAID logs covering Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies.
- Track project milestones and overdue deliverables.
- Prepare project dashboards and weekly/monthly management reports.
- Consolidate project status information from Project Managers, Business Analysts and technical teams.
- Produce project portfolio reports for PMO and senior management.
- Support Project Governance / Steering Committee meetings.
- Prepare presentations, project status packs and management dashboards.
- Monitor project resource utilisation and capacity.
- Track internal and external project resources.
- Monitor vendor deliverables, invoices, contracts and project expenditure.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and maintained according to PMO standards.
- Support project change control by tracking approved scope, schedule and budget changes.
- Maintain project baselines and update forecasts following approved changes.
- Track project risks and financial impact.
- Support project audits by providing financial, governance and project-control documentation.
- Identify project control issues and escalate them to the Project Manager / PMO.
- Ensure projects comply with the bank's IT governance, procurement, financial control and audit requirements.
- Support project closure activities, including final cost reconciliation and lessons learned.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Business Administration, Finance, Project Management or related field.
- 3–8+ years of experience in Project Control, PMO, Project Coordination or IT Project Management.
- Strong experience with project financial tracking and reporting.
- Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
- Experience with project scheduling and milestone tracking.
- Good understanding of IT project lifecycle and PMO governance.
- Experience preparing management dashboards and project reports.
- Strong understanding of CAPEX, OPEX, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Experience working with vendors and procurement teams.
- Banking / financial-services experience is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
