Job Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment.
- Carry out dismantling, assembly, alignment and adjustment of mechanical components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as pumps, conveyors, boilers, turbines and other rotating machinery.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and identify mechanical faults.
- Use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments safely and correctly.
- Assist with welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication works where required.
- Carry out equipment alignment, bearing replacement, coupling installation and other mechanical maintenance activities.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Follow maintenance schedules, work instructions and safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure the work area is safe and clean.
- Record maintenance activities, defects and spare parts used.
- Perform other mechanical maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Minimum SPM / SKM / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a fitter or mechanical technician, preferably in a power plant, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Experience with pumps, conveyors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes and rotating equipment is an advantage.
- Able to read basic mechanical drawings.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to work overtime, shifts and during plant shutdown/maintenance periods when required.
- Good safety awareness and physically fit for industrial work.
Salary: RM1,700 – RM2,000 basic, depending on experience and skills.
