InterSystems Integration Software Developer (HealthShare / IRIS / Ensemble)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented InterSystems Integration Software Developer to join our healthcare technology team. In this role, you will design, build, test, and maintain robust integration interfaces that connect critical clinical and administrative systems. You will play a vital role in enabling seamless healthcare data exchange using industry standards like HL7, FHIR, and C-CDA.

Key Responsibilities

• Interface Development: Design, build, and deploy data interfaces using InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS for Health, or Ensemble.

• Data Transformation: Create and maintain DTLs, XSLTs, and custom mappings to transform data across HL7 v2/v3, FHIR (JSON/XML), and C-CDA formats.

• Business Logic & Orchestration: Configure, manage, and optimize InterSystems Business Services, Business Processes (BPL), and Business Operations.

• Integration Protocols: Work with a wide variety of transport protocols including RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, MLLP, SFTP, and TCP/IP.

• Troubleshooting & Support: Monitor interface activity, diagnose and resolve production message delivery issues, and optimize data flows for maximum uptime and performance.

• Database & Logic: Write efficient ObjectScript logic and embedded SQL queries to support data transformation and storage requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting integration interfaces using InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS, or Ensemble.

• Language Skills: Strong, proven proficiency in InterSystems ObjectScript (COS).

• Healthcare Interoperability Standards: Solid working knowledge of HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, and CDA/C-CDA standards.

• Tooling: Hands-on expertise using DTL (Data Transformation Language), BPL (Business Process Language), and relational queries via SQL.

• Protocols: Experience integrating via REST, SOAP, MLLP, and SFTP.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a track record of troubleshooting complex interface errors and latency issues.

Nice-to-Haves / Preferred Skills

• Official InterSystems Certifications (e.g., HealthShare Integrator, InterSystems IRIS Core Developer).

• Experience with Enterprise Master Person Index (EMPI) management or patient matching logic.

• Exposure to modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, git-based version control for InterSystems (e.g., git-for-iris), or containerized environments (Docker).
