Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Descriptions:
  • Perform routine and non-routine microbiological, chemical, and physical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished product, water and environmental samples accurately, safely, and within the required turn around time, in accordance with applicable GMP, GLP, and laboratory safety requirements.
  • Prepare samples, culture media, reagents, solutions, and laboratory materials required for testing.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records for all submitted samples, including compilation, analysis, evaluation, and preparation of test reports.
  • Follow laboratory quality control procedures, policies, and documentation requirements, including instrument calibration, procedural calibration, verification, and maintenance activities.
  • Identify and report any issues that may adversely affect test performance or the accuracy and reliability of test results. Take appropriate corrective action and promptly notify the supervisor of any significant issues.
  • Participate in relevant training and competency programmes, including ISO/IEC17025 training, proficiency testing, and inter-laboratory/ring tests, to meet laboratory compliance requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the sample retention room, ensuring proper identification, storage, traceability, and disposal of retained samples.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the laboratory, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized.
  • Perform other laboratory-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:
  • ITE Diploma / Nitec / Higher Nitec in Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in laboratory testing and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, GMP, GLP, and laboratory safety requirements will be an advantage.
  • Able to follow SOP and testing method accurately.
  • Report any out of specification, abnormal or unusual results to the supervisor immediately.
  • Monitor lab consumables, reagents, media & supplies and inform supervisor when replenishment is required.
  • Follow applicable food safety, quality, safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.
  • Able to commit to work on every alternate Saturday (8am to 12 noon)
