About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Forwarding Assistant / Forwarding Officer to manage customs declaration processes for import and export shipments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely customs documentation, permit processing, and compliance with Customs regulations while coordinating closely with customers, operations teams, and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Export Declarations
- Prepare and monitor daily vessel closing reports and ensure all declarations are completed within the vessel closing schedule.
- Review pre-shipment documents, including invoices and packing lists, and verify accuracy prior to declaration.
- Follow up with customers for missing shipment documents, permits, and supporting information.
- Prepare and process customs declarations, including K1, K2, K3, K8, POMPA, and DDB transactions.
- Transmit declarations via EDI upon customer approval and ensure compliance with Customs requirements.
- Handle specialized declarations involving MIDA, MITI, SST exemptions, permits, and other regulatory clauses.
- Update exchange rates in the declaration system and verify duties, taxes, and SST payable.
- Coordinate with Finance for duty and tax payments, top-up requests, or cheque arrangements.
- Liaise with Customer Service, Operations, Runners, Customs, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth clearance processes.
- Ensure all declarations are released successfully in the customs declaration system and completed within the required timeline.
- Prepare and submit final documentation through MYCIED and other relevant government platforms.
Import Declarations
- Verify shipping documents and ensure consistency with shipment data.
- Accurately enter declaration information into the customs declaration system.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and customs requirements.
- Monitor declaration status and follow through until successful clearance.
Requirements
- SPM, Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in customs declaration, freight forwarding, or logistics operations will be an added advantage.
- Familiar with Dagang Net, RA Software, and customs declaration processing.
- Knowledge of K1, K2, K8, ZB declarations, Customs procedures, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience handling declarations involving MIDA, MITI, SST exemptions, permits, and Free Zone (KEK) operations is preferred.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Willing to work in Pulau Indah, Westport

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
