Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage all commercial and cost-related aspects of infrastructure construction projects. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost planning, procurement support, contract administration, and financial control to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project costs and control expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts.
- Evaluate variations, claims, and change orders, ensuring accurate cost assessments.
- Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities, and assist in contract negotiations.
- Measure works on site and verify subcontractor claims and progress.
- Advise project management on cost impacts, risks, and financial performance.
- Maintain complete commercial documentation and cost reports.
- Support procurement activities including supplier and subcontractor evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably on infrastructure or civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and measurement methods.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Preferred Competencies:
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, road, or bridge projects.
- Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, contract forms, and local regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with frequent site visits.
- Extended working hours during critical project stages may be required.
- Compliance with safety and company policies is mandatory.
