We are seeking an experienced SAP Migration Architect to lead a complex Brownfield++ SAP S/4HANA transformation program for a strategic client in Malaysia.

The ideal candidate will be a highly competent and hands-on consulting professional with proven success delivering SAP migration programs in enterprise environments. The successful candidate must be capable of quickly adapting to the client's ecosystem, providing technical leadership, driving migration readiness assessments, managing conversion risks, and ensuring successful project delivery.

This role requires a strong blend of Migration Architecture, SAP BASIS Leadership, and Transformation Consulting expertise. The Migration Architect will also serve as the program's SAP BASIS Lead, owning technical architecture, migration strategy, system conversion activities, readiness assessments, and cutover execution.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Strategy & Architecture

• Own the end-to-end migration architecture and technical transformation strategy for the Brownfield++ program.
• Define migration roadmaps, conversion approaches, deployment strategies, and technical governance standards.
• Lead technical due diligence activities, landscape assessments, and migration planning workshops.
• Identify migration risks, dependencies, blockers, and remediation requirements.
• Establish migration best practices and ensure alignment with SAP-recommended conversion methodologies.
• Collaborate with functional, development, infrastructure, cloud, security, integration, and data teams.

Migration Readiness & Assessment Leadership

• Lead SAP S/4HANA migration readiness assessments and provide recommendations for successful conversion.
• Execute and analyse

• Business Partner Conversion Readiness

• Identify conversion blockers and drive remediation activities across all workstreams.
• Develop migration readiness reports and executive-level recommendations.

Customer Vendor Integration (CVI) & Business Partner Conversion

• Lead CVI assessment, planning, and remediation activities.
• Evaluate customer and vendor master data readiness for Business Partner conversion.
• Work with functional and data teams to resolve synchronization issues, data inconsistencies, and conversion errors.
• Ensure successful Business Partner adoption and conversion readiness.

Simplification Item (SI) Assessment & Remediation

• Conduct Simplification Item Checks and evaluate business and technical impacts.
• Identify required remediation activities for impacted processes, custom developments, and integrations.
• Coordinate remediation planning with functional, development, and business stakeholders.
• Validate completion of all mandatory pre-conversion activities.

SAP BASIS Leadership

• Act as the SAP BASIS Lead throughout the program lifecycle.
• Lead system upgrades, technical conversions, patching, transport management, and system administration activities.
• Manage SAP landscape strategy across Development, QA, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
• Ensure system performance, security, availability, and stability.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and issue resolution during migration, testing, and go-live phases.

Cutover & Go-Live Management

• Define conversion execution strategy, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and contingency measures.
• Support dress rehearsals and mock conversions.
• Lead technical go-live readiness reviews.
• Provide leadership during cutover and hypercare activities.

Stakeholder & Consulting Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor to client leadership and project stakeholders.
• Present migration readiness status, risks, recommendations, and mitigation plans.
• Mentor technical teams and establish migration governance standards.
• Drive collaboration across technical, functional, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Communicate effectively with executive, project, and technical stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements

• 10-15+ years of SAP consulting, architecture, and technical delivery experience.
• Proven experience as a:
• SAP Migration Architect
• SAP Technical Architect
• SAP BASIS Lead
• SAP S/4HANA Conversion Lead
• Must have successfully delivered at least one end-to-end Brownfield SAP S/4HANA migration project in a lead role.
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA conversion methodologies and technical migration strategies.
• Demonstrated experience conducting:

• Simplification Item (SI) Checks
• Customer Vendor Integration (CVI)
• Business Partner Conversion
• Custom Code Impact Assessments
• Integration Readiness Reviews
• Extensive SAP BASIS administration and landscape management experience.
• Experience with SUM/DMO, system conversion activities, Unicode conversion, database migration, and technical upgrade projects.
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, integrations, interfaces, middleware, and surrounding ecosystem applications.
• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead discussions with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Available to start on or before 1 September.
• Willingness to work onsite in Malaysia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple SAP S/4HANA migration or transformation project experiences.
• Experience in Brownfield+, Selective Data Transition, or Hybrid Transformation programs.
• SAP S/4HANA Conversion or SAP Technology certifications.
• Experience with SAP Cloud environments and hyperscalers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, Focused Run, ChaRM, SAP Signavio, and SAP Cloud ALM.
• Experience working within large enterprise or multinational environments.
• Prior consulting experience with system integrators or global transformation programs.
• Malaysian candidates preferred; qualified expatriates are also encouraged to apply.
