Job Title - Operations Engineer
Reporting To - Operations Manager
Location - Benoi Road, Singapore
Job Summary
Responsible for providing mechanical engineering and technical support for workshop and field service operations involving pumps and rotating equipment. The role includes technical coordination, reverse engineering, engineering documentation, tooling design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure jobs are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Technical Coordination
- Support workshop and field service activities to ensure efficient job execution.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Provide technical support for pump overhaul, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments on technical matters.
Mechanical Engineering & Reverse Engineering
- Perform dimensional inspection and reverse engineering of pump and rotating equipment components.
- Design jigs, fixtures, and special tools to support workshop operations.
- Coordinate fabrication and verify completed components against engineering requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes, tooling, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Support the development and implementation of engineering standards, work instructions, and best practices.
General Responsibilities
- Support daily operational activities as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment, pump repair, maintenance engineering, or workshop operations.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and machining requirements.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (e.g. Vernier callipers, micrometres, bore gauges, dial indicators, and depth gauges).
- Good knowledge of centrifugal pumps, bearings, mechanical seals, shaft repairs, dynamic balancing, shaft alignment, and rotating equipment.
- Familiar with ISO 9001 documentation and quality control practices.
- Independent, proactive, and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Good coordination and communication skills with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Possess Class 3 driving licence will be an added advantage.
