The Inspection Engineer with observation and direction from team lead or inspection engineer ensures the safety, reliability, and compliance of equipment through detailed inspections and adherence to industry standards. Learn and assist inspection engineer to develop and execute inspection plans, select appropriate non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and maintain inspection equipment. Analyse data, produce clear reports, and implement quality assurance and safety protocols. The jr inspection engineer also required to seek for knowledge and experience to perform job at site and team management. They maintain accurate documentation and continuously seek process improvements, ensuring efficient and effective inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to NDT inspections. Stay updated on changes in standards and implement them in inspection processes.
2. Inspection Planning: Assist to develop comprehensive inspection plans based on project requirements, materials, and inspection methods. Collaborate with project managers to integrate inspection plans into project schedules.
3. Method Selection: Select appropriate NDT methods (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing) based on material properties and inspection goals. Determine the most effective combination of methods for a given inspection scenario.
4. Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Ensure that inspection equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operated according to specifications. Perform regular checks on NDT equipment to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
5. Inspection Execution: Conduct NDT inspections according to established procedures and standards. Monitor and control the inspection process to ensure accuracy and reliability of results. Communicate effectively with team lead and team members.
6. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyse inspection data and interpret results to identify defects, anomalies, or areas of concern. Provide clear and concise reports on inspection findings.
7. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes for NDT inspections. Conduct audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement.
8. Safety and Environmental Compliance: Prioritize and enforce safety protocols during inspections. Ensure that NDT activities comply with environmental regulations.
9. Client & Management Communication: Interact with clients and management to understand inspection requirements and communicate findings. Address client queries and provide technical support as needed.
10. Training and Development: Seek for available training and experiences. Stay updated on advancements in NDT technology and methodologies.
11. Documentation:Maintain detailed records of inspection activities, including procedures, results, and any follow-up actions. Generate comprehensive inspection reports for documentation and client deliverables.
12. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency in NDT inspections. Implement changes to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of inspections.
13. Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of NDT into overall project workflows.
14. Resource Management: Manage resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Optimize resource allocation to maximize productivity.
15. Field Project Representative (FPR): When necessary, can effectively handle project coordination tasks at a site by leveraging skills in planning, organization, and communication. Create detailed schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards. By maintaining high-quality standards and implementing safety protocols, they ensure the smooth execution of the project. Also collect and analyse data, prepare progress reports, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Acting as a liaison between different teams, ensure clear communication. Additionally, identify and address project risks and issues promptly, ensuring the project's successful completion up to related document submission and claim.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,300.00 per month
