Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cloud Migration Engineer role based in Kuala Lumpur. The Cloud Migration Engineer will plan, design, and execute migration of applications, data, and infrastructure from on-premises or legacy environments to modern cloud platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing existing systems, defining migration strategies, configuring cloud services, and coordinating cutover activities with cross-functional teams. The role involves troubleshooting migration issues, optimizing performance, ensuring security and compliance, and documenting architectures and processes. The engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and client stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
Qualifications

• Cloud platform skills: Experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
• Migration and infrastructure skills: Proficiency in workload assessment, migration tooling, scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).
• Systems and networking skills: Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows), virtualization, TCP/IP networking, VPNs, firewalls, and identity/access management.
• Architecture and design skills: Ability to design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures, including hybrid and multi-cloud setups.
• Operational skills: Experience with monitoring, logging, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and incident/problem management in cloud environments.
• Security and compliance awareness: Familiarity with cloud security best practices, data protection, and compliance frameworks relevant to regulated industries.
• Communication and collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
• Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, and prior hands-on experience in cloud migration or cloud engineering roles
