Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, MICPA, CTIM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in corporate tax within a tax advisory, accounting, or professional services environment.
  • Good understanding of Malaysian corporate income tax legislation and tax compliance requirements.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing tax computations, tax returns, tax estimates, and related tax documentation.
  • Experience in handling LHDN/IRBM audits, investigations, reviews, or enquiries will be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax matters clearly to clients.
  • Able to manage multiple client assignments independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Senior Tax Executive

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Tax Executive to join our growing team at HSS Advisory. In this role, you will work closely with clients across various industries, providing practical advice on corporate tax matters while ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for tax professionals who are looking to further develop their technical expertise, client management skills, and career in tax advisory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate tax compliance engagements, including the preparation and review of tax computations, tax returns, tax estimates, and related documentation.
  • Provide tax advisory services on corporate income tax and other tax matters affecting clients' business operations.
  • Conduct technical research on Malaysian tax legislation, public rulings, guidelines, and other relevant tax developments to support client engagements.
  • Assist clients with tax matters including tax estimates, tax refunds, tax appeals, voluntary disclosures, and other tax-related applications.
  • Handle tax audits, reviews, investigations, and enquiries conducted by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN/IRBM), including preparing audit documentation, responding to tax queries, and liaising with the tax authorities.
  • Identify tax risks and recommend practical solutions to enhance compliance and minimise tax exposure.
  • Prepare tax reports, technical opinions, presentations, and client correspondence.
  • Independently manage assigned client portfolios and ensure timely delivery of tax engagements and statutory deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing responsive, professional, and practical tax advice.
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide guidance where required.
  • Stay updated on changes in Malaysian tax legislation and share relevant developments with clients and colleagues.
