Job Description

Responsibilities

The Associate Research Coordinator (ARC) / Research Coordinator (RC) supports the Lung Cancer Consortium Singapore (LCCS) research programme by coordinating and administering clinical and translational research activities. This role will facilitate patient recruitment, informed consent, biological specimen collection and processing, clinical data management, and study-related documentation to ensure compliance with research protocols, regulatory requirements, and institutional standards. This role also supports collaboration between clinicians, laboratory personnel, and research investigators to advance lung cancer research initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Patient Recruitment & Study Coordination

Screen, recruit and consent eligible patients for research studies in accordance with approved study protocols and ethical requirements.

  • Clinical Data Collection & Documentation

Collect, verify and maintain accurate clinical data, study records, regulatory documents and research databases.

  • Questionnaire Administration

Administer study questionnaires and collect patient-reported outcomes according to protocol requirements.

  • Biospecimen Collection & Processing

Collect, process and manage biological specimens including blood and tissue samples according to SOPs and study requirements.

  • Sample Inventory Management

Maintain specimen inventory records, storage documentation and tracking systems.

  • Sample Logistics Coordination

Coordinate specimen retrieval, transfer and shipment with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Laboratory Support

Assist in blood sample processing, tissue sample harvesting activities and DNA/RNA extraction procedures, where applicable.

  • Research Administration

Prepare study updates, support team meetings, maintain meeting minutes and provide administrative support for research activities.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Education Support

Liaise with investigators, clinicians, nurses, laboratory staff and external collaborators; support educational events, conferences and workshops when required.

  • Other Duties

Perform additional duties and projects assigned by the Principal Investigator or Manager.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences or other relevant disciplines.
  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Biomedical Research is advantageous.
  • Competency in phlebotomy will be an added advantage.
  • Good organizational, coordination and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform detailed documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database entry.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare and research teams.

For Associate Research Coordinator (ARC) Applicants

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant healthcare/research experience are welcome to apply.
  • Basic understanding of clinical research processes and research ethics is preferred.

For Research Coordinator (RC) Applicants

  • Relevant experience in clinical research coordination, healthcare or laboratory research setting preferred.
  • Experience in patient recruitment, informed consent, data collection and study coordination is advantageous.
