Job Purpose

Principal Accountabilities
Production Readiness & ORA
- Lead production-related Operational Readiness Assurance (ORA) activities.
- Ensure production systems are fully prepared for commissioning, start-up, and early operations.
- Verify alignment between design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, operating philosophy, and control narratives.
- Support development and closure of ORA readiness checklists and punch items.
- Act as production focal point during pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
- Review and endorse production related commissioning procedures and SIMOPS.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, system walkdowns, and dynamic testing.
- Support first oil / gas, ramp-up, and performance stabilisation activities.
- Provide leadership during early operations and ramp-up phase.
- Support production optimisation, stability, and handover from project to operations.
- Ensure smooth transition to steady-state operations and normal organisation structure.
Provide Technical And Operational Expertise For Operating Procedures Development
- Operating Procedures (Normal, Abnormal, Emergency)
- Start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures
- Production optimisation and surveillance guidelines
- Ensure procedures are practical, validated through commissioning, and aligned with control system logic.
Manpower, Training & Competency
- Support recruitment, mobilisation, and onboarding of production personnel.
- Identify training and familiarisation needs, including:
- Process systems
- Control systems (DCS/ESD)
- Operating philosophy and emergency response
- Participate in competency assessments and crew readiness reviews.
- Champion process safety and safe production practices.
- Ensure production systems comply with:
- HAZID / HAZOP outcomes
- ALARP principles
- Permit to Work and SIMOPS requirements
- Participate in incident investigations, lessons learned, and risk reviews during pre-ops.
Operation Phase
Implementation of Management System & Risk Assessment:
- Implement and enforce the company and Field Management System (FMS).
- Ensure operating procedures, process safeguards, and risk assessments are in place and effective.
- Lead and participate in HAZID, HAZOP, JSA, and risk reviews.
- Ensure incidents, near misses, and non-conformances are investigated and closed.
Process Assurance
- Ensure integrity and reliability of production processes and utilities.
- Monitor plant performance, operating envelopes, alarms, and key process indicators.
- Manage process deviations, upsets, and abnormal operations.
- Ensure compliance with product specifications and environmental discharge limits.
- Lead root cause analysis for production losses and process incidents.
Maintenance & Reliability Interface
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance Superintendent to align production and maintenance priorities.
- Support planning and execution of planned shutdowns, turnarounds, and SIMOPS.
- Ensure proper handover, isolation, reinstatement, and testing of equipment.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives and defect elimination.
- Balance production demands with asset integrity and equipment care.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate operations across all department heads to optimize efficiency and maximize asset uptime.
- Ensure effective cost control and foster cost awareness across the organization.
- Maintain clear awareness of key issues affecting client and subcontractor relationships.
- Liaise closely with client representatives to ensure accurate reports and information are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
Emergency Response
- Act as a key member of the Emergency Management Team (EMT).
- Lead or support emergency response actions related to process safety incidents.
- Ensure emergency preparedness, drills, and competency of production personnel.
- Take decisive actions to stabilize plant and protect life, environment, and asset.
Competencies
I. Functional
- Strong understanding of FPU/FPSO/FSO process systems (separation, gas compression, water treatment, utilities).
- Knowledge of process safety management and offshore regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with DCS/ICSS systems and production reporting tools.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and operational teams.

Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in operational system implementation, administration, and support.
- Relevant industry experience in Oil & Gas or Floating Production FPU/ FPSO/FSO operations.
- Demonstrated experience in participating with vendors activities throughout project phases from design and deployment to testing and commissioning ensuring successful and timely system delivery.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master’s Degree is an added advantage.

- Certificate of Competency (CoC):
- Class 2 Second Engineer >3000?kW Unlimited (minimum Class 4 Watchkeeping Engineer >750?kW Unlimited), or
- Class 1 Chief Officer >3000?kW Unlimited (minimum Class 3 Watchkeeping Officer >750?kW Unlimited).
- Possession of the above CoC qualifications will be considered an advantage.
