Responsibilities

Activités
- Ensures proper implementation of the Company HSE Policies.
- Ensures contractors’ compliance with the HSE clauses from relevant contracts within Operations Division and within activities on all the sites.
- Investigates and analyses all incidents and accidents, prepares cause tree analysis, compiles reports. Follows up on corrective actions to ensure completion and compliance.
- Promotes safe and responsible work culture with the Company and contractor personnel.
- Reviews contractors’ HSE Management Systems (MS), identifies gaps that require bridging with the Company’s HSE systems, prepares, issues and updates the bridging documents.
- Conducts regular audits of contractors’ facilities in cooperation with ad-hop operations’ specialists.
- Schedules the training sessions for the operations’ personnel.
- Maintains all HSE records, statistics and KPIs to ensure accurate reporting: recording of all incidents, accidents, safety observations, using the Company’s systems and databases (Synergi).
- Ensure that contractor’s anomaly reporting system is in place on site and that cards are reported and analysed for trends and subsequent actions identified.
- Prepares operations’ monthly HSE reports and any other ad-hoc reports as requested.
- Supports all Company Safety Initiatives and organizes HSE campaigns for contractors.
- Organizes and chairs special HSE events: departmental HSE committees, HSE Forums, etc.
- Supports HQ audits as required, provides information, organizes HSE reviews for operations division.

- Qualification level required for the position: Level 6 = Bachelor’s or equivalent level
- Technical skills required for the position:
- Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, standards, and regulatory requirements in upstream oil & gas operations.
- Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies, including root cause and cause tree analysis.
- Experience in contractor HSE management, compliance verification, and bridging of contractor and company systems.
- Ability to conduct HSE audits, safety tours, and operational reviews across multiple sites and entities.
- Competence in risk identification, hazard assessment, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience in HSE reporting systems, KPI monitoring, and analysis of safety data and trends.
- Good understanding of E&P operational activities and cross-functional interfaces (operations, drilling, projects, logistics).
- Familiarity with HSE databases and incident reporting systems.
- Behavioral competencies required for the position:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with operational teams and contractors.
- Ability to influence and promote safety culture across multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
- Effective coordination and collaboration across cross-functional and operational teams.

- Ability to work autonomously in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Attention to detail and discipline in monitoring compliance, reporting, and follow-up of actions.
- Adaptability to work within evolving operational environments and changing organisational contexts.
- Language skills required for the position:
- English (C1–C2): Required — advanced proficiency for writing and communication.
- Bahasa Malaysia (B2 C1): Recommended — professional proficiency for regulatory and authority engagement.
- French (B2–C1): Advantageous — supports interaction with TotalEnergies’ headquarters and global networks
- Certification required for the position:
- Valid offshore medical certification.
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) or equivalent.
- Additional professional HSE certifications would be considered an advantage.
- Specific knowledge required for the position:
- Good knowledge of HSE standards, policies, and practices in upstream oil & gas operations.
- Understanding of E&P business activities and operational interfaces (Field Operations, Drilling, Projects, Logistics).
- Knowledge of incident investigation processes and implementation of corrective actions.
- Familiarity with contractor HSE management and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry safety practices.
- Knowledge of HSE reporting, KPIs, and data monitoring systems.
- Level of experience required for the position:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical or HSE-related roles within oil & gas or similar industrial environments.
- Experience in upstream E&P operations and working across multiple operational entities.
- Proven experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and follow-up of corrective actions.
- Experience in contractor HSE management, compliance monitoring, and audit processes.
- Exposure to offshore operations and multi-stakeholder environments, including contractors and regulatory bodies.
- Experience working in a transversal role supporting operations without direct line authority.
