Role Description The Sales Analyst is responsible for supporting the sales organization through data analysis, reporting, performance tracking, system administration, and business insights generation. This role plays a critical part in enhancing sales efficiency, monitoring key business metrics, managing sales systems, and providing analytical support for strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and Year-to-Date (YTD) sales reports.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance by product, salesperson, distributor partner (DP), customer, and channel.
  • Track inventory levels and sales trends to support demand planning and stock management.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.
  • Regularly monitor, update, and track sales targets, achievements, and performance gaps.

Data Management & System Maintenance

  • Maintain accurate customer master data, item master files, and sales-related databases.
  • Update customer information, trade classifications, and relevant records in company systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across sales and reporting platforms.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting processes and data management practices.

Business Analysis & Insights

  • Conduct New Product Development (NPD) performance analysis and post-launch evaluations.
  • Analyze promotional activities, trade campaigns, and sales initiatives to measure effectiveness.
  • Perform ROI analysis and other business performance assessments to identify growth opportunities and improve profitability.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on market and sales data.

Trade & Claims Management

  • Track, reconcile, and summarize trade claims, margin-sharing claims, and Return-To-Distributor (RTD) claims.
  • Prepare and process claim documentation accurately and within required timelines.
  • Maintain records of trade offers, promotional agreements, and customer rebate programs.
  • Collaborate with finance and sales teams to ensure accurate claim validation and settlement.

Sales Operations Support

  • Update and maintain Modern Trade (MT) and General Trade (GT) trade offers and pricing information.
  • Administer customer segmentation and classification frameworks.
  • Support sales operations by ensuring timely and accurate reporting of commercial activities.

Systems Administration & User Support

  • Manage and maintain the Distribution Management System (DMS) and related sales applications.
  • Administer company-issued tablets, SIM cards, and system access for sales personnel.
  • Provide Excel and business system training to users to improve productivity and reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinate and support troubleshooting for laptops, software applications, and sales technology tools.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sales system issues and user support requests.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate reports, streamline processes, and enhance data visualization.
  • Support cross-functional projects and business initiatives through analytical and operational expertise.
  • Undertake additional assignments and ad-hoc analyses as required by management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Data Analytics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Sales Analysis, Business Analysis, Sales Operations, or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, Dashboarding).
  • Experience with ERP, DMS, CRM, or Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Business Analysis, including gathering and translating Business Requirements into clear documentation and solution specifications.
  • Experience in reviewing and optimizing Business Process workflows, with a focus on efficiency and compliance.
  • Effective Communication skills, including the ability to engage stakeholders at various levels and present complex information clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with reporting and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools) and basic understanding of data visualization.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
