Job Title: Business Analyst – Life Insurance

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong Life Insurance domain experience to support business and technology initiatives within the insurance sector.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Life Insurance processes, requirements gathering, business analysis, stakeholder management, and insurance system/project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, document, and validate business requirements from business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories for technology teams.
• Analyse and document As-Is and To-Be business processes.
• Work closely with Life Insurance business users, product owners, IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Support requirements workshops, solution discussions, and functional design sessions.
• Perform gap analysis between existing processes/systems and proposed solutions.
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Support UAT planning, test case preparation, defect clarification, and UAT execution.
• Assist with impact analysis for system enhancements, process changes, and new product implementations.
• Ensure requirements are clearly understood and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project teams during implementation, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.

Mandatory Requirements

• 3+ years of Business Analyst experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
• Strong Life Insurance domain experience is mandatory.
• Good understanding of Life Insurance business processes and products, such as:
• New business / policy issuance
• Policy administration
• Underwriting
• Premium processing
• Policy servicing
• Claims
• Policy amendments
• Renewals
• Customer servicing
• Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis, and functional documentation.
• Experience working with business stakeholders and IT delivery teams.
• Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting UAT and system implementation projects.

Good to Have

• Experience with Life Insurance policy administration systems.
• Exposure to digital transformation, insurance platforms, or system integration projects.
• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar BA tools.
• Experience in Malaysian insurance or financial services environments.
