The position will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, developing corporate and event-related business, improving revenue performance, strengthening customer acquisition channels and supporting the company's long-term expansion.
The employee will work closely with senior management and the operations, marketing and finance functions to ensure that commercial initiatives are commercially viable, properly implemented and aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement short-term and long-term business development strategies for the company's nightlife, entertainment and F&B operations.
Identify new revenue opportunities including corporate events, private functions, group bookings, promotional collaborations, hospitality partnerships and other commercial arrangements.
Establish and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event organisers, business partners, suppliers, promoters and other relevant industry stakeholders.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify customer trends, market opportunities, pricing developments and potential areas for business expansion.
Develop customer acquisition and retention strategies to increase venue utilisation, recurring customers and overall revenue.
Negotiate commercial terms, partnership arrangements, supplier agreements and service contracts in the commercial interests of the company.
Develop strategic partnerships with hotels, travel-related businesses, event companies, corporate organisations and other complementary businesses to generate new customer channels.
Prepare annual and monthly sales plans, business development budgets, revenue forecasts and performance targets.
Analyse sales performance, customer behaviour, event performance and revenue data and recommend appropriate business improvement measures.
Work with management to develop pricing strategies, promotional programmes, membership concepts, event packages and customer loyalty initiatives.
Plan and coordinate corporate events, private functions and commercially important promotional activities together with the operations and marketing teams.
Evaluate the commercial viability of proposed new services, partnerships, promotional concepts and business opportunities before implementation.
Monitor business development expenditure and ensure that commercial initiatives generate appropriate returns on investment.
Prepare business performance reports, revenue analyses, forecasts and management presentations for senior management.
Coordinate with the operations team to ensure that confirmed commercial arrangements and client requirements are implemented effectively.
Work with the marketing function to develop targeted digital marketing, promotional and customer engagement strategies based on business objectives.
Assist management in developing new hospitality and entertainment concepts and evaluating potential expansion opportunities.
Monitor market developments in Singapore's nightlife, entertainment and hospitality sectors and recommend appropriate changes to the company's commercial strategy.
Maintain professional relationships with key clients and business partners and resolve significant commercial or service-related issues.
Ensure that business development activities and commercial arrangements are carried out in accordance with applicable company policies, contractual requirements and relevant regulatory and licensing requirements.
Management-Level Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will have responsibility for planning and executing the company's commercial development strategy rather than performing routine front-line duties.
