Job Description
Responsibilities
Register patients and verify personal details
Manage appointments, phone calls, WhatsApp enquiries and patient queues
Collect payment, issue receipts and handle basic billing/insurance or CHAS/Medisave procedures where applicable
Prepare consultation rooms before patients enter
Assist doctors during simple procedures or examinations when trained to do so
Take basic measurements such as temperature, blood pressure, height and weight
Dispense medication according to the doctor’s prescription and clinic procedures
Label medicines and explain basic medication instructions as directed
Maintain patient records and update the clinic computer system
Sterilize or clean instruments and maintain infection-control standards
Restock medicines, consumables and medical supplies
Check stock levels and expiry dates
Keep the reception, consultation rooms and treatment areas clean and organised
Arrange laboratory tests, referrals, medical reports or follow-up appointments
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow clinic SOPs
Depending on the clinic, the role may also include phlebotomy/blood taking, ECG, wound dressing, vaccination assistance or health screening, but these normally require appropriate training.
