We are looking for an experienced and responsible Finance Controller to oversee our company's accounting and finance functions.
The successful candidate should be hands-on, possess strong accounting knowledge, and be able to lead, guide and monitor the Accounts & Finance team to ensure all work is completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee full set of accounts, including monthly and year-end closing.
- Supervise and guide the Accounts & Finance team in their daily responsibilities.
- Review the work performed by accounting staff and ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR), including customer outstanding balances, collections, credit control and ageing.
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), including supplier invoices, payments, claims and reconciliation.
- Review and ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations.
- Monitor company cash flow, bank balances and payment schedules.
- Review general ledger entries and ensure accounts are properly maintained.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports for Management.
- Monitor debtors, creditors, expenses and other key financial matters.
- Ensure proper accounting procedures, internal controls and documentation are followed.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, bankers and other external parties when required.
- Assist Management in budgeting, financial planning and financial analysis.
- Identify accounting discrepancies or weaknesses and take appropriate corrective action.
- Improve and standardise accounting procedures and SOPs where necessary.
- Ensure the Accounts & Finance team meets monthly reporting and closing deadlines.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree / Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge and experience in full set accounting.
- Good understanding of AR, AP, General Ledger and Bank Reconciliation.
- Preferably experienced in a trading, distribution or FMCG environment.
- Good leadership skills with the ability to guide and supervise accounting staff.
- Hands-on and willing to assist the team in resolving accounting issues.
- Strong attention to detail and able to identify errors or discrepancies.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Familiarity with SQL Accounting / SQL Payroll will be an added advantage.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
