Job Description

Responsibilities

At TNG Digital, part of TNG Digital Group, we build the tech behind TNG eWallet, one of Malaysia’s most used apps for payments and everyday life.

Millions of people rely on us daily, not just to pay, but to manage money, access financial services, and get things done faster and simpler.

Behind it all is a team that likes to question how things are done, move quickly, and try new ideas. If you enjoy solving real problems and seeing your work used at scale, you will feel right at home here.

What You'll Do:

Lead and manage the end-to-end Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) programme for the Credit Division's money lending and financing businesses. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable AML/CFT/CPF/TFS requirements through effective, scalable and regulator-ready controls.

Reporting to the Head of Non-Financial Risk & Compliance, the incumbent will serve as the FCC subject matter expert, partnering with business stakeholders, Group functions, regulators, law enforcement agencies and external service providers to strengthen the financial crime risk management framework. The role also requires leveraging technology, AI and automation to enhance AML screening, investigations and reporting efficiency.

  • Establish and maintain the FCC framework, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, governance, controls, record-keeping and annual compliance plans.
  • Design and implement effective FCC workflows, controls and systems covering customer risk rating, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, case management and regulatory reporting.
  • Define and oversee risk-based customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), beneficial ownership verification and ongoing monitoring requirements.
  • Review alerts and investigate unusual or suspicious activities, including escalation and timely submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
  • Manage sanctions screening controls, resolve potential matches and coordinate regulatory reporting and escalation of confirmed hits.
  • Serve as the AML Compliance Officer and primary FCC contact for regulators (BNM and KPKT), law enforcement agencies and other competent authorities.
  • Leverage AI, automation and data analytics tools to improve AML screening effectiveness, reduce manual effort, enhance risk detection and streamline investigation and reporting processes.
  • Provide FCC reporting, metrics and risk insights to senior management, committees and the Board, including escalation of material risks and control weaknesses.
  • Conduct control testing, monitor remediation activities and coordinate regulatory reviews, audits and inspections.
  • Provide FCC advisory support and assess regulatory or business changes for financial crime risk implications.
  • Support strategic or cross-functional initiatives and perform other duties assigned by Management.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Law, Accounting, Banking, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in AML/CFT, financial crime compliance, investigations, regulatory compliance or risk management within financial services, credit services or other regulated institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian AML/CFT/CPF requirements, Targeted Financial Sanctions and regulatory expectations applicable to money lending and non-bank financial institutions.
  • Proven experience establishing, enhancing or managing AML/FCC programs, including governance, risk assessments, customer due diligence, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, investigations and regulatory reporting.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or enhancing FCC systems, including screening, monitoring, workflow and case management solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, machine learning or data analytics tools, with the ability to identify and implement opportunities to automate AML screening, alert reviews, investigations and reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, project management and report-writing skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with regulators, auditors, law enforcement agencies and senior management.
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
  • CAMS, ICA, ACFCS or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
