Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Facility Operations & Readiness

  • Support the development and implementation of facility management and operational strategies for data center facilities.
  • Ensure the facility is prepared for safe, reliable, and continuous operation prior to handover.
  • Coordinate operational readiness activities between the construction, engineering, commissioning, and operations teams.
  • Review facility requirements and ensure they are incorporated into the project design and construction works.

2. Critical M&E Systems

  • Monitor and coordinate facility systems including:
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • MV/LV switchgear
  • UPS and battery systems
  • Standby generators
  • Cooling and HVAC systems
  • Chillers and CRAH/CRAC systems
  • Fire protection and fire alarm systems
  • BMS/EPMS
  • ELV and security systems
  • Water supply and drainage systems
  • Ensure critical systems are installed and maintained according to approved specifications and operational requirements.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential reliability or operational issues.

3. Testing & Commissioning

  • Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • Review testing and commissioning procedures, method statements, and test reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors, specialist vendors, consultants, and commissioning teams during testing activities.
  • Ensure identified defects and system issues are properly rectified before handover.
  • Participate in functional performance testing of critical facility systems.

4. Maintenance Planning

  • Develop and review preventive and corrective maintenance requirements for facility systems.
  • Assist in preparing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Monitor equipment condition and maintenance records.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures and system issues.

5. Handover & Documentation

  • Coordinate facility handover from the construction team to the operations/facility management team.
  • Review and ensure completeness of:
  • As-built drawings
  • Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals
  • Equipment datasheets
  • Testing and commissioning records
  • Asset registers
  • Preventive maintenance schedules
  • Warranty information
  • Spare parts lists
  • Ensure all outstanding defects and punch-list items are closed before handover.

6. Facility Management & Compliance

  • Ensure facility operations and maintenance activities comply with company policies, project requirements, statutory regulations, and relevant industry standards.
  • Support facility audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
  • Monitor building and critical infrastructure performance.
  • Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, incidents, inspections, and equipment performance.

7. Contractor & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with M&E contractors, maintenance contractors, specialist vendors, and service providers.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is completed according to agreed requirements.
  • Review service reports, maintenance reports, and technical submissions.
  • Assist in evaluating contractor performance and service quality.

8. Emergency & Business Continuity

  • Support the development and implementation of emergency response procedures for critical facility systems.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and contingency planning.
  • Assist in developing procedures for equipment failure, power interruption, cooling failure, fire emergencies, and other critical incidents.
  • Ensure critical facility systems have appropriate redundancy and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facility management, M&E, building services, data center, industrial facilities, or critical infrastructure.
  • Experience in data center or mission-critical facilities is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of critical M&E systems and facility infrastructure.
  • Experience in testing & commissioning, handover, operation readiness, and maintenance planning.
  • Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with BMS/EPMS and facility monitoring systems is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of technical documentation, O&M manuals, asset registers, and maintenance records.
  • Strong troubleshooting, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work on-site and coordinate with multiple contractors, vendors, consultants, and project teams.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
