Job Summary
The Systems Engineer ensures the availability, security, and compliance of a mission-critical cloud-hosted enterprise application through operations, maintenance, incident management, and system enhancements in collaboration with internal teams and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain production systems, implementing software and hardware upgrades to ensure system stability and performance
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, contractors, and third-party providers to execute operational and project tasks effectively
- Monitor systems to enforce compliance with standards, policies, and security requirements
- Conduct IT compliance activities such as log reviews, account and access rights audits, and compliance reporting
- Support internal and external IT audits and coordinate remediation actions for audit findings
- Manage system configurations, documentation, and operational procedures aligned with organizational quality standards
- Coordinate Vulnerability Assessment activities and ensure timely remediation of security vulnerabilities
- Prepare and deliver regular project and operational status reports
- Oversee remediation, retirement, and disposal of obsolete system components
- Conduct technical research, testing, and evaluation of new technologies to support system improvements
- Manage production support issues and coordinate timely resolution of defects and incidents
- Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Lead incident investigations and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve complex or cross-functional issues
- Provide timely updates and prepare incident summaries including infrastructure and cross-system incidents
- Perform defect trend and root cause analyses to identify recurring issues and implement preventive measures
- Coordinate resources to ensure timely closure of incidents and service requests
- Propose continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, cybersecurity posture, and operational processes
- Gather business and technical requirements from stakeholders and oversee system enhancement implementations
- Plan and manage change requests including deployment planning, environment setup, issue management, risk mitigation, and implementation support
- Coordinate with system integrators and technical teams to ensure successful integration and delivery of solutions
- Manage system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify solutions meet business and technical requirements
- Support stakeholder communications and change management activities to ensure smooth implementation
- Obtain necessary approvals and clearances prior to production deployment and change implementation
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience supporting enterprise applications or IT systems in production environments
- Knowledge of IT operations, incident management, change management, and system administration
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in IT audit
- Familiarity with IM8 or equivalent ICT security policies
- Experience with AWS Cloud
- Minimum 3 years of IT experience, preferably in systems operations, application support, or infrastructure support
- Experience supporting cloud-based enterprise environments
- Good understanding of cybersecurity, IT governance, and compliance practices
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Other Information
- Work Week: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Work Arrangement: Full Onsite - West Central Region
- Salary: S$6,500–S$10,000 (with guaranteed and variable bonuses)
