About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance professional to establish, implement, and continuously enhance the Group Compliance Management Framework across our regional operations. This role will be responsible for compliance governance, regulatory monitoring, compliance risk management, testing and reporting, while driving a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in compliance management, regulatory compliance, risk management, governance, or audit within a multi-entity business environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance Framework & Governance

• Develop and maintain the Group Compliance Management Framework, policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Manage compliance policy reviews, updates, approvals, and documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance governance across the Group.
• Prepare compliance reports and management papers for governance committees and senior management.

Regulatory Compliance & Obligation Management

• Maintain the Group Compliance Obligation Register covering laws, regulations, licenses, permits, certifications, and internal requirements.
• Monitor and assess regulatory changes and emerging compliance requirements.
• Coordinate with Legal and business stakeholders to ensure timely implementation of regulatory requirements.
• Support compliance assessments across various business units and jurisdictions.

Compliance Risk Management

• Facilitate compliance risk assessments and evaluate compliance-related risks across the Group.
• Monitor compliance risk exposure and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance risks are properly captured, assessed, and reported to management.
• Review and challenge compliance risk assessments based on supporting evidence.

Compliance Monitoring & Testing

• Develop and execute compliance monitoring and testing programs.
• Assess the effectiveness of compliance controls and processes.
• Identify compliance gaps, exceptions, and improvement opportunities.
• Track corrective actions and ensure timely remediation of findings.

Incident Management & Corrective Actions

• Maintain compliance breach and incident registers.
• Monitor remediation plans and conduct effectiveness reviews.
• Analyse compliance trends and provide insights to management.

Compliance Training & Awareness

• Develop and coordinate compliance training and awareness initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR and business units to improve compliance knowledge and culture.
• Support Code of Conduct and ethics awareness programs.
• Monitor training participation and compliance competency levels.

Reporting & Compliance Analytics

• Prepare compliance dashboards, reports, KPIs, and KRIs for management reporting.
• Maintain compliance data integrity and reporting systems.
• Support digitalisation and continuous improvement of compliance processes.
• Manage compliance information and records through SharePoint and other systems.

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Legal, Internal Audit, Sustainability, SHE, HR, Finance, Procurement, IT, and operational teams.
• Provide compliance guidance and facilitate cross-functional compliance initiatives.
• Promote best practices and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
• Qualifications in Compliance, Risk Management, Governance, Law, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related fields are an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Compliance Management, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Governance, Internal Controls, or related areas.
• Experience in compliance monitoring, control testing, regulatory assessments, and corrective action management.
• Hands-on experience developing or implementing Compliance Management Systems or Frameworks is preferred.
• Exposure to multi-business unit or multi-country operations is an advantage.
• Experience in palm oil, plantation, edible oils, oleochemicals, FMCG, food manufacturing, trading, or related industries is highly preferred.

Industry Knowledge

• Good understanding of compliance requirements within the palm oil industry.
• Familiarity with sustainability certification requirements such as RSPO, MSPO, and ISCC.
• Knowledge of Malaysian regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to Indonesian and Singapore regulations would be advantageous.

Technical Competencies

• Compliance risk assessment and monitoring.
• Regulatory compliance and obligation management.
• Compliance testing, gap assessment, and corrective action tracking.
• Dashboard preparation, reporting, and data analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Knowledge of Power BI or Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) systems is an advantage.
