To support the continued development of our hardware and firmware-based cybersecurity technologies, we are looking for a Firmware Engineer to join our R&D team.
In this role, you will develop low-level embedded software, Embedded Linux board support packages (BSP), and application-level software for custom hardware platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong C/C++ programming skills, proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation, and practical Embedded Linux experience. Prior exposure to FPGA architectures or the AMD Xilinx ecosystem is highly advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Firmware & Embedded Software: Develop, debug, and maintain low-level firmware and system software using C and C++.
Embedded Linux & BSP Development: Develop and customize Embedded Linux Board Support Packages (BSP), device drivers, bootloaders (U-Boot), and kernel configurations.
Application & SDK Development: Implement user-space applications and SDKs on customized Embedded Linux boards using C and C++.
Automation & Scripting: Write test automation scripts, build utilities, and workflow tools using Python and Shell scripting.
Hardware Bring-Up & Debugging: Participate in initial board bring-up and debug hardware-software interactions utilizing hardware comprehension and standard lab tools.
FPGA & System Acceleration Integration: Collaborate on hardware/software co-design for SoC/FPGA platforms, integrating custom IP cores, PetaLinux configurations, and acceleration frameworks.
Code Quality & Documentation: Participate in peer code reviews, support quality code practices, and maintain precise technical documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Core Programming: Hands-on experience in low-level firmware and software development using C and C++.
Scripting Languages: Proficiency in Python and Shell (Bash/Sh) scripting for build automation and hardware testing.
Embedded Linux & BSP: Experience with Embedded Linux development, BSP customization, device drivers, and device trees using build tools such as Yocto or Buildroot.
Application Development: Proven track record in developing user-space applications and SDKs for customized Embedded Linux targets in C/C++.
Hardware Comprehension: Good understanding of hardware fundamentals, SoC architectures, board bring-up processes, and common communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, Ethernet).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
AMD Xilinx Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with AMD Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC (ZynqMP) chips, Vivado Design Suite, PetaLinux, and the Vitis Unified Software Platform.
Edge AI Integration: Familiarity with the AMD Xilinx Vitis AI platform for deploying machine learning models on target hardware.
Embedded Security & Networking: Good understanding of Root of Trust (RoT) security concepts, secure boot mechanisms, and embedded network protocols.
Build Systems & CI/CD: Experience with Git, CMake, Docker, and CI/CD automation pipelines.
