Responsibilities
Vendor & Carrier Coordination
Manage day‑to‑day procurement enquiries and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, co‑loaders, and logistics providers.
Obtain, compare, and evaluate rate proposals across multiple service options and trade lanes.
Maintain updated, detailed knowledge of carrier services, schedules, capacities, and market changes.
Provide recommendations to the team based on rate competitiveness and service performance.
Contract & Rate Negotiation Support
Lead spot rate negotiations and short-term procurement discussions with carriers and vendors.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities and negotiate value‑added services where possible.
Evaluate proposals, prepare comparison analysis, and support decision-making with data‑driven insights.
Ensure negotiated rates and agreements are accurately recorded and communicated to relevant teams.
Stakeholder & Operations Support
Provide timely and accurate rate information to operations, sales, and customer service teams.
Support complex quotations and large tenders by offering lane insights and service recommendations.
Communicate capacity updates, rate changes, and service advisories to internal teams.
Assist in resolving procurement‑related discrepancies with carriers, finance, or operations.
Job Requirements
Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
Good analytical and comparison skills to evaluate rates, services, and cost options.
Attention to detail and accuracy when handling rate sheets, contracts, and procurement data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and ability to work with procurement or TMS systems.
Good coordination and organizational skills to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines.
Customer‑focused and proactive approach to supporting internal stakeholders.
Team player with a positive attitude, adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
