Responsibilities

Chief Officer for Oil/Chemical Bunker Tanker (Singapore)

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Chief Officer to join our team, operating an Oil/Chemical Bunker Tanker in the Singapore region. The Chief Officer is the second-in-command and plays a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, with primary responsibility for cargo operations, stability, safety, and the welfare of the crew. This role requires a strong understanding of oil and chemical tanker operations, international maritime regulations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all cargo operations, including loading, discharging, bunkering, tank cleaning, and slop disposal, ensuring strict adherence to company procedures and international regulations (MARPOL, SOLAS).
  • Ensure the vessel's stability and trim are maintained at all times, calculating and managing cargo and ballast operations effectively.
  • Supervise and train junior officers and crew members, fostering a culture of safety, discipline, and teamwork onboard.
  • Implement and maintain the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the ISM Code, conducting regular safety drills and inspections.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the vessel's hull, deck, and cargo equipment, including planned maintenance systems.
  • Assist the Master in all aspects of navigation, watchkeeping, and port operations, particularly within the busy Singapore waters.
  • Manage inventory of stores, spares, and provisions for deck and cargo departments.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary reports, logs, and documentation related to cargo, safety, and vessel operations.
  • Act as the Ship Security Officer (SSO) or assist in security duties, ensuring compliance with the ISPS Code.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, including fire, collision, grounding, and pollution incidents, as per company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all local Singaporean port regulations and requirements during bunker operations.
