Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION – QUANTITY SURVEYOR
1. Tendering & Pre-Contract Administration
i. Prepare tender submissions, including cost estimates, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
ii. Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare/review Bills of Quantities (BQ).
iii. Obtain, evaluate, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
iv. Conduct cost analysis and commercial evaluation of tender opportunities.
v. Coordinate tender clarifications, Requests for Information (RFI), and technical queries with clients, consultants, and relevant stakeholders.
vi. Assist in the preparation of tender reports and recommendations for management review.
vii. Participate in tender interviews, negotiations, and post-tender clarifications when required.
2. Contract Administration
i. Review, interpret, and administer construction contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
ii. Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and documentation.
iii. Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
iv. Assist in the preparation and submission of Extension of Time (EOT) applications, contractual claims, and supporting documents.
v. Prepare and manage contractual notices, variation instructions, and claims-related documentation.
vi. Maintain proper records of contractual matters and project documentation.
3. Commercial & Cost Management
i. Prepare, review, update, and maintain Bills of Quantities (BQ) throughout the project lifecycle.
ii. Carry out quantity take-offs, site measurements, and quantity verification for project execution and commercial purposes.
iii. Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
iv. Prepare project budgets, cost plans, cost reports, and commercial forecasts for management review.
v. Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and administer Variation Orders (VO).
vi. Prepare and submit progress claims to clients
vii. Evaluate subcontractor claims and recommend payment certifications.
viii. Monitor project cash flow and assist in financial planning and cost tracking.
ix. Prepare, negotiate, and finalize project final accounts with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
x. Ensure accurate records of quantities, costs, claims, and contractual adjustments are maintained throughout project execution.
4. Procurement Management
i. Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
ii. Prepare Purchase Orders (PO), procurement schedules, and related documentation.
iii. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements.
iv. Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
v. Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and service providers.
vi. Support cost-saving initiatives through effective sourcing and procurement strategies.
5. Project Coordination Reporting
i. Liaise with project managers, site teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors on contractual and commercial matters.
ii. Attend project meetings and provide updates on procurement, cost, and contractual issues.
iii. Prepare periodic reports on project costs, procurement status, claims, and contractual matters.
iv. Support management in achieving project objectives, profitability targets, and commercial goals.
v. Maintain proper filing and documentation for audit, compliance, and project records.
6. General Support
i. Provide general support to Management and project teams on contractual, procurement, commercial, and operational matters.
ii. Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, proposals, and other documentation as required.
iii. Support coordination between internal departments, clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
iv. Maintain proper records, filing systems, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
v. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time in support of the Company's business operations and objectives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
