Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description Remedic Services & Supplies Sdn Bhd is a Malaysia-based provider specializing in endoscopy and mother-infant care products. The organization is fully compliant with the Medical Device Act and registered with the Medical Device Authority, Malaysia, undergoes annual SIRIM audits to maintain and improve quality standards. Its services and support extend across government and private hospitals, clinics, and major healthcare service providers throughout Malaysia.

Location: Klang Valley, preferably Klang/Kuala Lumpur

Territory: Malaysia, with regular nationwide travel

Reports to: Managing Director

Business areas: Phoenix neonatal equipment, Picterus jaundice screening and Endoscope repair/service and consumable

Position purpose

To independently develop and convert government and private healthcare opportunities across Malaysia by reaching clinical and procurement decision-makers, discovering genuine customer problems, conducting effective product demonstrations, issuing commercially sound proposals and controlling each opportunity through procurement to purchase order.

This is a field-intensive sales role. It is not suitable for someone who prefers mainly office-based work, general customer visits or passive quotation follow-up.

Primary responsibilities

1. New-business development

  • Identify and penetrate government hospitals, private hospitals, medical centres, hospital groups and relevant agents.
  • Build relationships with neonatologists, paediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, matrons, biomedical engineers, endoscopy users, procurement officers and hospital management.
  • Develop new opportunities for Phoenix, Picterus and endoscope repair services.
  • Create territory plans based on clinical needs, budget cycles, equipment replacement requirements and procurement windows.
  • Generate self-developed opportunities rather than relying solely on management-provided leads.

2. Clinical discovery and qualification

For every opportunity, establish:

  • Clinical or operational problem.
  • Existing equipment or competing solution.
  • Required product, specification and quantity.
  • Clinical evaluator and end-user.
  • Decision-maker and budget holder.
  • Procurement route and approval process.
  • Available budget and budget period.
  • Demonstration or evaluation requirement.
  • Expected decision and PO dates.
  • Competitors and commercial objections.
  • Exact next customer action.

An opportunity is not qualified merely because a customer is interested or has received a brochure.

3. Product presentations and demonstrations

  • Present Phoenix neonatal products and Picterus confidently to clinical and biomedical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate product demonstrations only after confirming the customer problem, intended evaluator and commercial objective.
  • Prepare the correct product, accessories, clinical materials and regulatory documents.
  • Record evaluation feedback and secure an agreed post-demonstration action.
  • Coordinate technical support where specialised installation or engineering assistance is required.

4. Government and private procurement

  • Manage quotations, purchase requisitions, tenders and procurement submissions.
  • Follow opportunities through ePerolehan, CPRC, Ariba and private-hospital purchasing systems where applicable.
  • Provide MDA certificates, letters of authorisation, brochures, compliance statements and supporting documents promptly.
  • Identify the officer responsible for every procurement blocker.
  • Escalate stalled approvals with facts, owners and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate expected PO dates and probabilities.

5. Endoscope repair and service development

  • Identify hospitals requiring flexible endoscope inspection, repair, preventive maintenance, loaner support or service contracts.
  • Gather equipment model, serial number, fault description, usage history and urgency.
  • Coordinate technical inspection and quotation preparation.
  • Explain the repair process and commercial options without making unauthorised technical commitments.
  • Follow repair quotations until approval, rejection or a documented future decision.

6. Pipeline and reporting discipline

Maintain a current pipeline showing:

  • Hospital and department
  • Product and quantity
  • Opportunity value
  • PIC and decision-maker
  • Customer problem
  • Current buying stage
  • Last completed action
  • Next action with an exact date
  • Procurement blocker and responsible owner
  • Probability
  • Expected PO date
  • Management assistance required

Submit daily updates and participate in Monday pipeline and Friday closeout reviews. “Waiting for feedback” is not an acceptable status without a named person and dated action.

7. Account ownership and handover

  • Maintain all customer contacts and commercial records in Remedic’s approved system.
  • Ensure quotations, messages, demonstration reports and commitments are visible to management.
  • Maintain proper custody records for samples and demonstration equipment.
  • Complete structured account handovers whenever territory or employment responsibilities change.

Non-negotiable requirements

  • Minimum three years of successful B2B medical-device, pharmaceutical, laboratory or healthcare-equipment sales.
  • Evidence of personally generating and closing business, not merely supporting existing accounts.
  • Proven access to doctors, nurses, biomedical departments and procurement stakeholders.
  • Comfortable selling both capital equipment and service/repair solutions.
  • Able to learn neonatal clinical applications and endoscope-service fundamentals.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Confident presentation, negotiation and objection-handling skills.
  • Valid driving licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively throughout Malaysia.
  • Able to manage early departures, overnight travel and multi-state customer schedules.
  • Disciplined reporting and competent use of spreadsheets, CRM systems, email and digital procurement portals.
  • Comfortable being questioned on pipeline facts and commercial assumptions.
  • High personal integrity; no concealment of lost, stalled or weak opportunities.
  • Comfortable for Director to visit your customers in the field

Preferred attributes

  • Existing relationships within government and private hospitals.
  • Experience with neonatal, paediatric, obstetric, biomedical or endoscopy departments.
  • Familiarity with MDA documentation, government quotations, ePerolehan, CPRC or hospital Ariba systems.
  • Experience conducting clinical demonstrations.
  • Experience selling through hospital groups, agents or sub-distributors.
  • Ability to translate technical product features into clinical and financial benefits.
