Basic Job Purpose

Manage the Company's cylinder assets by ensuring accurate cylinder registration, inventory control, data integrity, and maintenance of the Cylinder Management System (CMS) to support operational efficiency and minimize cylinder loss.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.Safety

• Make sure that all tasks are performed safely.

• Cultivate safety culture to all subordinates.

• Identify, report, and take necessary action on potential hazards at workplace.

• Involve in, and implement safety programmes to ensure a safe workplace.

2.Cylinder Asset Management

• Manage the registration of new and existing cylinders and maintain accurate records in the Cylinder Management System (CMS).

• Maintain the Container Master File by updating cylinder information, including gas conversions, cylinder binding and unbinding, renumbering, and changes in cylinder status.

• Maintain accurate cylinder inventory records, cylinder biodata, and quantity control to ensure data integrity and traceability.

• Ensure cylinder barcode labels are properly maintained and remain legible for effective tracking.

• Conduct cylinder audits at customer sites and verify the accuracy of cylinder inventories.

• Monitor cylinder inventory movements and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.

• Report damaged cylinders to Management and prepare the necessary documentation for customer claims where applicable.

• Compile, analyse, and maintain records relating to cylinder discrepancies, data entry errors, and cylinder-related issues, and recommend corrective actions where appropriate.

• Prepare and generate monthly cylinder management reports and other management reports as required.

• Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Cylinder Management System (CMS), including assisting in database setup and data migration where required.

• Promote and support the implementation of cylinder barcode scanning processes within the Production and Logistics Departments to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Provide support to Production, Logistics, Sales, and other departments in resolving cylinder-related discrepancies and operational issues.

• Operate a forklift and/or reach truck safely and efficiently for loading, unloading, and movement of cylinders and materials when required and authorised.

6.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum Certificate in any discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, asset management, or manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.

• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with internal departments and customers.

• Forklift and / or reach truck driving license will be an added advantage.
