This role resides under Marine Services (the Integrated Marine Services arm of MISC Group).
THE JOB
- Gather, filter and analyse industry, market and competitors’ activities and strategies for the purpose of benchmarking, good business practices and recommending strategies/initiatives.
- Facilitate strategic business positioning and monitor approved business plan to support business growth.
- Facilitate project risk assessment with relevant parties for new initiatives/ opportunities.
- Assist the Manager to undertake studies/ projects that may assign from time to time.
BUSINESS STRATEGY & PLANNING
- Support the formulation of the strategy and business plan to meet the Company business goals in line with the corporate and sustainability strategies.
- Provide support to BU/SU in implementing new business ventures or other opportunities by providing insights, guidance and assessment including risk evaluation and mitigation review.

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
- Support the collation of information on competitors’ analysis, market drivers, technology development and perform benchmarking to support market analysis for any ongoing project undertaken.
- Conduct market analysis/outlook related to shipping, oil and gas, supply demand, and freight market periodically.
BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT PROCESS
- Support the facilitation of business improvement process to ensure the Company is aligned with best practices of the industries as well as to sustain the business growth.
- Participate or support other corporate projects and initiatives as and when required.
NETWORKING AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with the BU/SU across MISC Group to ensure all planning requirements are followed through timely and accurately.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with industry players and service providers to stay updated on emerging technologies, best practices, and benchmarks.
THE PERSON
- 5 – 7 years of working experience in maritime industry, preferably with corporate planning, risk management and strategic planning.
- Knowledge and understanding of factors and trends impacting in ship management and maritime services.
- Good understanding of concepts, principles and practices in strategic thinking and planning, analytical and problem-solving, sustainability and risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Statistics, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
