Full Time Senior Veterinarian, Vet Healthcare and Scientific Programmes - Singapore Zoo Jobs, in Mandai Wildlife Reserve - Maukerja

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(1) Manage the veterinary healthcare of all the animals in the collection across different taxonomic groups.

• Lead safe and effective physical, chemical and behavioural restraint on patients.
• Diagnose medical conditions using a wide range of diagnostic modalities available, including clinical pathology (haematology, biochemistry, endocrinology, immunology), diagnostic imaging (radiography, ultrasonography, computed tomography), microbiology, cytology and more.
• Perform soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, including invasive and non-invasive endoscopic procedures.
• Practice evidence-based medicine that is resource-appropriate.
• Lead animal emergency and critical care scenarios, including the formulation of practical and effective intensive care for patients.

(2) Supervise clinical activities of the hospitals to ensure the highest standards of healthcare are achieved.

• Mentor residents and supervise veterinarians.
• Maintain accreditation and credentialling of veterinary training programmes.
• Organise preventive healthcare and disease surveillance programmes.
• Develop long-term collection health strategies aligned with organisational objectives.
• Develop and maintain clinical policies, standards and protocols.
• Lead clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews and quality improvement programmes.
• Conduct regular reviews of veterinary procedures and outcomes to improve clinical performance.
• Ensure compliance to statutory, ethical, biosafety and animal welfare requirements.
• Govern hospital financial management and resources are allocated strategically and sustainably.
• Supervise hospital risk management processes including business continuity, occupational safety and clinical risk frameworks.
• Promote and support scientific research, publication and external professional engagement.
• Represent the organisation in professional, academic and regulatory forums.
